Effie, tell us more about yourself

I’m the founder of Hare Studio NYC and an experienced Milbon hair color educator.

What will clients experience at Hare Studio Salon?

Our salon is nestled in the vibrant Lower East Side of Manhattan, a neighborhood that’s always pulsing with energy and style. We specialize in cutting-edge hairstyles that resonate with our Gen Z clientele, like the popular wolf cut. Our expertise extends to intricate coloring techniques, including Asian blond balayage and creative designs like peek-a-boo highlights and ombré, often using a palette of soft pastel hues.

We’re committed to quality, which is why we choose top-tier products for our clients, such as those from Milbon, the renowned Japanese brand. Education is also a part of our ethos, and we regularly host workshops focused on techniques like balayage and blonding to help others elevate their craft.

The ambiance of our salon is very important to us. We curate a playlist of hip yet relaxing music to set a laid-back atmosphere where our clients can unwind. Our goal is to provide transformative haircuts and color services that not only reflect our clients’ personalities but also enhance their individual styles.

What specialties does Hare Studio offer?

We do trendy hairstyles like wolf cuts, as well as men’s curly perms. We’re experts at blond balayage and love working with pastel colors.

What is your number one tip for a happy, healthy hair and beauty routine?

I would recommend the use of Milbon hair care products like repair shampoo and hair treatments. I also like to use the Olaplex No 4P which is special for blonde hair.

If you have blonde hair, I also recommend using purple shampoo from Milbon at least once a week, plus repair shampoo for daily use. Milbon hair treatments are high quality so get them done every two months.

What New York hair, beauty, and fashion trends are you seeing right now?

Men are requesting a lot of perms and wolf cuts, while Women are looking for peek-a-boo hair color designs and shag hair cuts.

Who is your all-time hair, beauty, and style hero?

I love Dua Lipa. She is so stunning and stylish. I love Pharrell, they both inspired me to create hairstyles for the new generation!
