I’m the owner of Pink Mantis Beauty as well as a professional hair & makeup artist!
Ever since I can remember I knew that I wanted to be in the beauty industry. Even as a young kid, I was playing with my mom’s makeup, dressing up and cutting and coloring my own hair.
I would put on fashion shows and pose for photo shoots before I could even ride a bike! As an adult it just made sense to pursue doing what I love and luckily I’ve had plenty of success over the years. What is your number one tip for a happy, healthy hair and beauty routine?
I’m afraid I can’t give just one tip as healthy hair comes with a lifetime of ongoing maintenance and care! Again every single person is different and their hair is unique. Your lifestyle plays a big part in your hair’s overall health.
If you’re someone who uses consistent heat, color or lightener, harsh mineral water or products, or have over exposure to the sun, then you may have to add a restorative protein or keratin treatment to your weekly routine.
What Nashville hair, beauty, and fashion trends are you seeing right now?
In recent years Nashville has become the bridal capital of the world. Bachelorette parties and destination weddings have been a huge trend. With the emerging influx in growth, Pink Mantis Beauty absolutely loves providing top-tier services to out-of-town visitors!
What hair and beauty products do you think should be in everyone’s day-to-day routine?
As an affiliate of several brands and dedicated beauty enthusiast, I have had my fair share of personal product testing.
Charlotte Tilbury is one of my all-time favorite makeup brands! From the flawless filter foundation, contour wands, and pillow talk lip line, there’s no product from them that I dislike!
For skincare, Dr Dennis Gross peel pads will always be a part of my life as I recommend them to everyone! And for hair, Kevin Murphy has my vote by a landslide!
Beyond Pink Mantis Beauty, who else would you like to give some love to?
UAL is one of my favorite stores to find high fashion and designer clothes as well as Buffalo Exchange.
Who is your all-time hair, beauty, and style icon?
Frida has inspired me not just for her art and style but she’s such an iconic female who continues to live on which I absolutely love!
Marylin Monroe too of course just signifies feminine beauty!
Which current celebrity or public figure is getting it so right with their hair, beauty, and styling?
Iris Apfel has the best fashion, as far as hair and makeup, I absolutely love Ellen Harding.
